2022 Ram 1500 Overview

What's New For 2022?

Most of the additions found with the 2022 Ram 1500 come in the form of special editions and packages. A sporty G/T package can be added to the Laramie and Rebel editions, adding cold-air intake, a special exhaust system, paddle shifters and more. The new BackCountry Edition adds off-roading elements and equipment and a 10th Anniversary Edition upgrades the cabin materials and offers special color schemes and badging inside and out.

Performance and Technology

Four different engines are available with the new 2022 Ram 1500. The starting level is a 3.6-liter V-6, producing 305 horsepower with 269 pound-feet of torque, which is paired with a mild hybrid system. The same goes for the available 5.7-liter V-8 with 395 horsepower with 410 pound-feet of torque, which you can opt for without the electric hybrid connection. Meanwhile a turbodiesel 3.0-liter V-6 provides 260 horsepower with 480 pound-feet of torque, while the TRX trim uses a ridiculous supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, rated at 702 horsepower with 650 pound-feet of torque. When properly configured, the Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 pounds and haul up to 2,320 pounds, while a 4x4 system is also available.

Along with a variety of engine options, cab styles and bed sizes, you'll find plenty of useful tech features in the Ram 1500. The base Tradesman trim is fairly sparse with tech, offering a small touchscreen and not much else. In higher trims, plenty of options for a larger touchscreen infotainment center, smartphone integration and more area easy to add. Meanwhile, driver aids like forward collision mitigation and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert can be included to your Ram 1500.
